We carried out a retrospective cohort study in selected Osteoporosis Centers. Patients were considered to have high fracture risk in case of a history of a low-energy hip fracture or two or more vertebral or other site fractures. A total of 812 subjects (768 women and 44 men) aged 36-95years were included. The observation period was 2285.1 patient-years. Demographic data, clinical findings, and BMD data obtained by DXA, as well as a history of fractures that had occurred during the follow-up, were included in the analysis.

The objectives were to study mesophilic bacteria (MB) and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from wet coffee processing and evaluate their performance in a pulped coffee medium. Eighty-six bacteria isolates (59 MB and 27 LAB) were assessed for pectinolytic activity, metabolite production, and pH value decrease in coffee-based culture (CPM). Seven bacteria strains (3 MB and 4 LAB) were selected and used as starter cultures in the wet fermentation of pulped coffee. The MB and LAB populations varied from 4.48 to 8.43 log CFU g-1 for MB and 3.54 to 8.72 log CFU g-1 for LAB during fermentation. Organic acid concentration (ranged from 0.01 to 0.53 for succinic acid; 0.71 to 8.14 for lactic acid and 0.06 to 0.29 for acetic acid), and volatile compounds (44 compounds were detected in green beans and 98 in roasted beans) were evaluated during fermentation. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is one of the most rheumatoid disorders, and it is important to report their clinical and paraclinical data when affected with COVID-19. Evidence about their laboratory and radiologic findings is limited. In this case series, 10 cases of chronic and approved rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affected by COVID-19 are presented. Only 40% had dry cough, but myalgia and weakness as the general first presentation of infections was reported in most cases (80%). Gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and abdominal pain, were reported in 50% of individuals. In blood cell count, 30% of cases had thrombocytopenia, and ESR in all cases was positive. Abnormal CRP and elevated LDH were seen in 90% of cases. In HRCT assessment, all cases had an abnormal parenchymal pattern, and 90% of cases presented the usual pattern of COVID-19 (bilateral multifocal GGO/consolidation). Metabolomics, a growing field in life science research in recent years, has the potential to detect many metabolites and thus explains the underlying pathophysiological processes. Hence, new specific metabolic markers and related metabolic pathways can be identified for OA. In this review, we aimed to provide an overview of studies related to the metabolomics of OA in animal models and humans to describe the metabolic changes and related pathways for OA. The present metabolomics studies reveal that the pathogenesis of OA may be significantly related to perturbations of amino acid metabolism. These altered amino acids (e.g., branched-chain amino acids, arginine, and alanine), as well as phospholipids, were identified as potential biomarkers to distinguish patients with OA from healthy individuals.
